Standardized Tests: Testing accommodations for standardized tests may be requested from the testing source. Registration applications for institutional exams administered through the Testing Center, i.e. undergraduate placement tests, TOEFL, pre-CLAST, and CLAST, shall include a space for students to request accommodations and describe the basis for accommodations. A student whose disability prevents him/her from successfully passing the CLAST examination can request a test waiver by providing documentation supporting the request. Appeal for CLAST waivers can be made to the CLAST Appeals Committee. The Disability Resource Center will assist the students in submitting the appeal.
Students applying for non institutional exams (SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, etc.) must follow the requirements and deadlines indicated in the registration material. Students seeking accommodations must provide DRC with current documentation of the disability, which demonstrates the need for the testing accommodations so that an DRC representative can certify the need to the entity administering the test.
DRC shall coordinate the provision of special testing conditions for students with disabilities. DRC will inform professors of the testing accommodations, which students can receive based on the student's functional limitations. Professors may identify a site(s) where students who require adapted testing condition can complete the examination under the required conditions. In lieu of the above, faculty may request DRC to administer the exam.
